PISONI PRODUCTS ON THE PODIUM IN THE ALAMBICCO D’ORO COMPETITION!

10/7/2019
The Alambicco D’Oro national competition is a prestigious competition
organised by the Associazione Nazionale Assaggiatori Grappe e
Acquaviti (Anag) (National Association of Tasters of Grappa and other
Spirits) taking place annually for the awarding of medals for spirits. This
year the historical Pisoni Distillery won four medals. The competition had
a jury of 60 wine tasters who gathered for this event that is gaining
importance year after year. Pisoni Distillery won awards for the following
grappas: Grappa del Sole Biologica in the young grappa category,
Grappa Clessidra in the aged grappa category, Grappa
Gewürztraminer in the young aromatic grappa category and Grappa
Moscato Barricata in the aged aromatic grappa category.
Among the winning products by Pisoni is Grappa del Sole, which boasts
an organic certificate issued by ICEA (Istituto per la certificazione etica e
ambientale) (Italian Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification).
It is created through distillation of exclusively organic grape marcs from
Trentino in copper stills designed by Tullio Zadra. The result of this
process is a smooth, flavourful grappa.
Grappa Gewürztraminer is made with grape marcs of the same name
and is one of the single-variety distillates produced by the company. The
bouquet of this grappa recalls the scent of exotic fruits and flowers, such
as white rose and yellow rose.
Grappa Clessidra, which ages in French oak barriques for ten years,
also won a gold medal. Teroldego, Marzemino and Nosiola grape marcs
give this grappa a variety of tastes and aromas thanks to the long aging
process. Grappa Clessidra is amber-coloured and has an intense aroma
with hints of dried fruits, oriental spices, leather and cocoa. It is dry to
the palate and has a vanilla finish.
The historical Pergolese distillery is renowned not only for its production
of grappa but also for its wine production, and is among the founders of
the Trentodoc Institute in 1984.

Simone Loguercio, Best Italian Sommelier 2018, demonstrated forward-
looking insight in this field by publishing an article in a specialist
magazine recommending the Brut Millesimato 2014 Rosé, made with
100% Pinot Nero grapes, among the list of five wines “worthy of
mention” in the Trentodoc category.
Thanks to its light rose colour, fine and persistent perlage, and a
bouquet of flowery, vegetal and fruity notes, this wine gives a sensation
of balance and pleasantness to the palate.
