Many gold medals for Pisoni Grappa

The award-winning grappas are Grappa del Sole Biologica in the young grappa category, Grappa Clessidra in the aged grappa category, Grappa Gewürztraminer in the young aromatic grappa category and Grappa Moscato Barricata in the aged aromatic grappa category. The jury declaring the best grappas and other spirits was made up of 60 wine tasters who gathered specially for this event that is gaining in importance and acclaim year after year.
 
The characteristics of the various winning grappas are quite different. Grappa del Sole, for instance, is the Pisoni organic grappa, certified by ICEA (Istituto per la Certificazione Etica e Ambientale) (Italian Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification) and it is created through distillation of the grape marcs in antique copper stills; the result is a smooth, flavourful grappa. Grappa Gewürztraminer, instead, is made with grapes of the same name and its bouquet has hints of exotic fruits and flowers. Finally, Grappa Clessidra is obtained from grape marcs of Teroldego, Marzemino and Nosiola vines; a ten year ageing in French oak barriques gives this grappa an amber colour and an intense aroma of dried fruits, oriental spices, leather and cocoa.
